LGBTQ+ and Friends is a Chautauqua Community Group committed to promoting and embracing diversity and creating a sense of belonging in Chautauqua. In pursuit of these goals, we hold events during the 9-week summer season that are open to all members of the Chautauqua community in order to promote understanding and dialogue.
As an all-volunteer group, we ask for donations to help fund our programs and events (as described on the Activities page of this website).
Since we are not a tax-exempt organization, donations to our group are not tax deductible. Your support is greatly appreciated as it helps make Chautauqua a more diverse and engaging community.

Discussion Group
Our Tuesday lunch Discussion Groups are moderated and the theme each week ties in with Chautauqua Institution’s overall theme for the week, as well as the Interfaith themes.

Sunday Meet & Greet
Every Sunday during the season, we gather on the porch of the Athenaeum Hotel at 6:30pm to socialize and get to know each other. Everyone in the Chautauqua community is invited.

Special Events
Throughout the season, we host special events such as Pride on the Belle. Some of the events we have hosted in the past include a Drag Lecture, Drag Show, and Gender Panel. We have also used our donations to sponsor main-stage speakers at CHQ.
